Titles of Series

1. Mono series  (1986~88)

The form appears naturally, determined by the environment it is installed in,

through “induction” of the material’s innate energy.

2. Genius Loci series (1990~95)

Works depicting the connection between the material and the spiritual.

3. Pupa series (1994~98)

This series depicts internally suspended life containing both past and present.

4. Tree series (1989~99)

The orderly, logical world of plant fibers is shown as a symbol of Modernism.

5. Rhizome series (1996~2001)

In contrast to the Tree series, this chaotic, underground network symbolizes

Post-Modern society.

6. Antiquities series (1997~2000)

At the end of the 20th century, these seemingly excavated works of important

figures were created to, paradoxically, rekindle memories of life through

the suggestion of death.

7. Protoplasm and Black Flower series (1992~)

These two groups of “drawings” were created in the papermaking process to

depict the site of life’s origin.

8. Border series (2001~ )

It shows the relations between self and others, between this world and other world.

It comes out on cue from 9.11.
